After initiation into the Christian Community, the baptized are formed in the Christian Faith.
Typically, Christian parents bring their children to Baptism, and promise to raise their children in the faith. Parents fulfill their promise when their children complete the process of initiation through the celebration of Confirmation and First Eucharist. Christians are raised in the faith to take responsibility for how they practice their own faith, just as they are expected to take responsibility for their own physical needs. The Catholic parish provides opportunities for the baptized to grow in their faith, and to assist parents in passing on their Catholic faith.

Youth faith formation relies on parental support, and strives to engage youth with the help of volunteer catechists and youth ministers.
