The Adult Faith Formation Team promotes the ongoing spiritual formation of all adult members of St. John the Evangelist Parish Community by nurturing and guiding the adult members in their faith journey throughout their stages of life. The Adult Faith Formation Team will provide a variety of processes and programs for adults to: (1) invite and enable "ongoing conversion to Jesus Christ;" (2) examine core beliefs in dialogue with Sacred Scripture and Sacred Tradition; (3) engage actively in the life and ministry of the parish; (4) live as a Christian disciple, transforming society, and bearing witness to the Good News.

ReKindle

Along the journey of life, some fall on difficult times and withdraw from active participation in the life of the parish.  This can be caused when people move to a new residence, become overwhelmed by domestic or work-related problems or are burdened with the care of a sick or elderly family member; when they experience personality difficulties with church leaders or parish staff, when they perceive a hurt that they feel cannot be resolved, when differences with official church teaching seems beyond dialogue or compassion.  We need interested parishioners who can work with the Pastor, the Director of Christian Formation for Adults, and other volunteers to reach out to non-practicing and alienated Catholics and help them on their journey back into active participation.  Lots of patience, good listening skills and compassion are a must.

Marriage Enrichment

We also need a group of married couples to assist the pastor in providing spiritual formation and human development opportunities to the majority of our parishioners, and other married couples in various stages of married life. We plan to celebrate each year with a simple get-together for those who have reached milestone anniversaries (multiples of 5, and every year after the 60th year), and hold up for our young people the beauty and holiness of the married commitment.
